First-time adventurer seeking advice?

I'm planning a trip, in which I will go from the East coast of china (probably shanghai) and travel through China, to Tibet, Nepal, India and maybe Middle East without any plane trips, apart from arrival in shanghai and departure for home. My question to you is how plausible/safe/challenging/costly will it be to make my trip? To be honest, I am mainly concerned about my safety. I am 20 and haven't done anything like this before.

Well. I will pray for you.
