I'll be honest...I was never much of a Looney Tunes fan, even as a kid. Their
ilk of cartoon shenanigans just never appealed to me. So when this Cartoon
Network reboot showed up on my doorstep, it found a comfortable spot at the
bottom of my assignment queue; even less appealing than the abysmal **Alien
Opponent**.
Sorry, Bugs. Don't shove a lit stick of dynamite down my pants.
This re-imagined Warner Bros. property is surprisingly fun and sporadically
laugh-out-loud hilarious, sort-of-grown-up series featuring the studio's near-
complete stable of classic animated characters: Bugs, Daffy, Sylvester and
Tweety, Foghorn Leghorn, even Taz.
Instead of the usual plots -- where one or more characters endeavor to inflict
physical and emotional trauma on their adversaries -- **The Looney Tunes
Show** features storylines that are modern and complex. We get some meta-
storytelling with "The Foghorn Leghorn Story"; a look at industrial espionage,
when Daffy pilfers an orange peel machine design from Bugs in "Peel of
Fortune"; and some romantic hijinks in "Double Date."
But the stuff that had me laughing with vigor involved Lola (a female bunny
with a strangely inappropriate supermodel body). In previous ...
